Terms and Conditions

RATES

$100 initial fee (covers up to 2 hours of service)
$45 each additional hour

The initial fee includes travel time and cost.

Assignments before 8:00 AM, after 5:00 PM, weekends, and holidays will be assessed at a negotiated rate.

CO-INTERPRETERS

It is industry standard that assignments over 90 minutes in duration require 2 interpreters. If preferred, Claire Hatton can contact qualified professionals to arrange for a co-interpreter. Co-interpreters will bill at the rates stated above and will bill directly to the client.

SHORT NOTICE FEE

Request for an interpreter made less than 2 business days from the assignment is considered untimely and a short notice fee of $20 will be assessed.

CANCELLATION & NO-SHOWS

Cancellations made less than 2 business days from the beginning of the assignment will be billed at the quoted rate. The quoted rate will also be assessed for all assigned interpreters.

If a consumer does not show for their appointment, the quoted rate will be assessed without exception.

SPECIALTY ASSIGNMENTS

Any assignment requiring a special skill set such as performing arts, platform, deaf-blind, etc. will be billed at a higher rate due to the specialized knowledge and preparation required to provide an accurate interpretation. Additionally, any assignments which will be broadcast or video recorded will be billed at a higher rate. Please inquire for specialty rates.

NON-LOCAL TRAVEL

Claire Hatton is available for domestic and international travel. Travel costs including airfare, lodging, meals, parking, tolls, etc. will be charged to the client at the rates the costs were incurred unless otherwise negotiated.

Assignments requiring more than 1.5 hours transportation time one way will be assessed at a negotiated rate.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Claire Hatton will arrive at all scheduled assignments regardless of inclement weather unless a Level III Emergency has been declared. In such instance, no charge will be assessed to the client. If a client decides to cancel an assignment due to weather without 2 business days notice, the full rate will be billed.

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment is due within 30 days from the date of the invoice. An invoice paid after 30 days will be assessed a 5% late fee for every 15 day period it is delinquent.
